Desk Clock privacy policy
Last updated October 16, 2026
Desk Clock has no accounts, no ads and no analytics. It doesn't collect, sell or share personal information. Everything below is the full list of what leaves your device and why.
Location and weather
- If you allow location access, your device's position, rounded to about 100 metres, is sent to Open-Meteo to get the local weather, and to BigDataCloud to look up the city name.
- If you search for a city instead, the text you type is sent to Open-Meteo's place search.
- These services receive the request and your IP address, as with any web request. Their own privacy terms apply.
- You can refuse location access and set a city by name instead. If you turn the weather off in the settings, none of these services is contacted at all.
Stored on your device only
Your settings, chosen location, last weather reading, timers and alarms are saved in the app's local storage on your device. They're never uploaded. Uninstalling the app removes them.
If you choose your own photo as a timer's or alarm's icon, the app makes a small copy of it and keeps that copy in the same local storage. The photo is never uploaded or shared, and the copy is deleted when no timer or alarm uses it any more.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app shows one when a timer you started finishes or an alarm you set goes off. Notifications are created on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.
Contacting support
The Email support link in the app's settings opens a new email in your own email app, addressed to Desk Clock support. To help fix problems, it fills in a few technical details:
- the app version, and whether it runs as an installed app or in a browser tab
- your browser and operating system, window size and language setting
- whether you're online, and whether notifications are allowed
- your Desk Clock settings (such as which parts are shown and your sound, motion and screen choices), whether a location is set (not which one) and how long ago the weather last updated
- the last error the app ran into, if any
It never includes your location, city, time zone, timers or alarms. You can read, change or delete any of it before sending, and nothing is sent unless you send the email yourself.
Children
The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. For questions, use the Email support link in the app's settings, or the support contact on the app's Microsoft Store listing.
